It must be nice for Nike to have sneakers like the Trainer 91 just sitting in their vault. The Trainer 91 has been waiting for a few years for its second opportunity to be retroed. The first time the Trainer 91 was retroed it sold out quickly which really was not a surprise. Plenty of people have been begging for a second release of this sneaker and now it is here. Originally released in 1991 to the great Bo Jackson, the Trainer 91 sports a unique design while providing a super light-weight sneaker that offers amazing breathability for your feet. Great sneakers take on little to no changes when being retroed and this sneaker is a great example of that with the only major change being that nubuck has replaced the thicker duraback upper. The Trainer 91 features a Huarache like tongue, adjustable mini-Velcro straps, and an Air® unit in the heel for cushioning. Not sure what more you could want in a training sneaker but Nike will probably think of something.
