Sometimes you have one word that holds a lot of weight and has so much meaning to it that people respect the word the instant they hear it. In Jordan culture the word “Shadow” means a lot of things to a lot of people starting back in 1995 when Jordan himself first debuted the Jordan Retro 10 in the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Charlotte Hornets. We did not get to see much of a run for Jordan in the “Shadow” 10 (four games to be exact, series finished Bulls 3-1 over Charlotte) but as fans we liked what we saw and that was it. The “Shadow 10” is relatively simple featuring shadow grey nubuck to cover a majority of the shoe. The midsole is black as well as the elastic bands between the lace loops. The pull tab on the back of the shoe is black and below that you have a red embroidered Jumpman logo. On the outsole of the sneaker is some of Jordan’s accomplishments listed amongst black and shadow grey stripes and finished nicely with a contrasting red Jumpman logo. The sock liner is not flashy but features a nice checker board design and finished with a red insole. The “Shadow” 10 is definitely aesthetically pleasing while not being too boastful about it just like Jordan’s game on the court.
